Started in January of 2022, the Florida Freedom to Read Project connects parent organizations across the state of Florida and focuses our energy on defending every student’s right to access information and ideas while at school.

We encourage our parents to build relationships with our local school boards, educators, and administrators. Parents deserve a seat at the table, but it’s family style service and there’s something for everyone.

Our project has a vision of fostering a positive relationship with our schools – partnering with national and local organizations to ensure Florida public schools are forward thinking and equipped to meet the unique needs of every student.

Goals

We believe our public schools are the best place for our children to grow academically and socially. All of our time and effort in this project supports the following goals:

Build positive parent relationships with Educators and School Boards
Ensure our classrooms and libraries are equipped to serve a diverse student body
Support School Board policies that put students and their rights at the center of every decision
